Description/Purpose
Clinical Supervisors (CS) provide oversight and support to our therapeutic mentors and certified peer support staff who work in the field with our clients. The CS will meet with mentor(s)/peer(s) as assigned, at least two times per month for 30 minutes to ensure our mentors are providing trauma-informed, developmentally appropriate and clinically sound interventions to our clients. These meetings can also be provided in a group supervision format once per month for at least 1 hour. Meetings can occur in-person or via video conference.
In accordance with the Independent Contractor Agreement SOW as agreed upon between Independent Contractor (IC) and GMC:
Using the Gateway methodology of “4Roots Method”, Clinical Supervisors provide supervision to therapeutic mentors and certified peer support staff working with Gateway Mountain Center clients.
Provide at minimum 2x/month 30 minutes sessions for clinical support to assigned mentors and peer staff.
Be available to mentors and peer staff for clinical support as needed.
Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to staff members
Work collaboratively with mentors and peer staff to ensure they are delivering trauma-informed, developmentally appropriate and clinically sound interventions.
Work collaboratively with the WHMB/Wellness leadership team to support mentor development through training, program feedback, and program development.
Know, understand and represent through actions the Gateway vision, culture and therapeutic method.
The Clinical Supervisor is invited to monthly Mentor/ Peer Team meetings and quarterly Clinical Team meetings.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure effective coordination of patient care.
Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of patient information.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
Completion of a clinical program with a Masters or Ph.D. degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a closely related field of behavioral or medical science from an accredited educational institution.
Two years post-license experience and/or post masters management experience in a related field.
Valid license in California as a mental health clinician (LMFT, LCSW, Ph.D.)
Excellent people skills

Current CPR/First Aid Certification
Access to a computer, internet and a phone.
Preferred:
Outdoor leadership experience
Experience in wellness and outdoor activities (i.e. yoga, skiing, climbing, meditation, hiking, mountain biking)

Compensation/Reimbursement as an Independent Contractor at $90-$110 per/hr of service.
Invoice should be submitted on a Monthly Basis for services rendered.

Peer Support Specialist

Description/Purpose
The Certified Peer Support Specialist (PSS) is a vital member of Gateway Mountain Center, providing peer support services to individuals facing mental health and/or substance abuse challenges. As a PSS, you will utilize your lived experience and recovery journey to inspire and support others on their path to wellness. You will work collaboratively with clients, their families, and the clinical team to promote empowerment, self-advocacy, and recovery. Your role will involve providing emotional support, sharing coping strategies, and assisting individuals in accessing appropriate resources and services, and utilizing nature as a healing tool.
Peers are employed on an as needed basis to provide support services to Tahoe area youth. Generally, peers meet with clients as assigned to offer one-on-one and group support utilizing your lived experience, California State licensure, our 4Roots Method and leading edge humanistic, trauma-informed modalities.
Peer Support Specialists provide a consistent, caring, authentic relationship with the youth by actively listening to their needs and concerns and skillful self disclosure of your own lived experience and personal recovery to inspire hope and facilitate connections.
Skills & Qualifications:
Required:
Must be 18 years of age and possess a high school diploma or its equivalent.
Must self identify as having lived or familial experience with mental health and/or substance use challenges and personal recovery.
Certification credential issued by a recognized certification body. (Required within the first 6 months of employment with GMC)
Advanced/In Person CPR and Wilderness First Aid Training (WFA may be completed within 6 mos. of employment).
Excellent people skills, especially with children.
Clean Record: LiveScan/DMV
Knowledge and understanding of recovery-oriented principles and practices.
Ability to maintain professional boundaries, confidentiality and ethical standards.
Assist individuals in identifying strengths, resources and coping strategies to enhance their recovery journey.

Individualized Recovery Planning:
Collaborate with clients to develop personalized recovery plans, setting achievable goals and objectives.
Assist individuals in identifying strengths, resources and coping strategies to enhance their recovery journey.
Help clients navigate personal barriers and or challenges by providing guidance and practical support.
Documentation and Reporting:
Session documentation which requires writing notes for each session written in a timely manner utilizing our Electronic Health Record system.
Completing All assessment protocols in a timely manner as assigned.
Adhere and comply with all HIPAA confidentiality and privacy guidelines.Twice a month meetings with a clinical supervisor.
Collect, track and report client data, outcomes and measures.
Professional Development:
Regularly and consistently meeting with your direct report supervisor as assigned.
Twice a month meetings with a clinical supervisor.
Once a month meetings with the case manager.
Complete required annual CEUs to maintain CA State certification. Gateway Mountain Center offers periodic on site development opportunities.
Monthly in person team meetings to support development and resource sharing with the intent of improving Mentor/Mentee relationships,effectiveness and continually improving outcomes.
Other Qualifications Preferred:

Pay:
Starting rate between $20 to $29 per hour depending on experience and education.

Additional CPSS Paid Training:
Gateway Mountain Center has obtained funding to support you in obtaining your CPSS Certification. As an additional benefit to you, GMC could potentially provide you with tools, support and PAID training for the required 80 study hours and financial support for costs associated with certification tests as required by the state. Perspective employees will be required to complete a minimum of (2) two group service sessions (scheduled on an as needed basis), support the staffing of the 4Roots YWC (staffing hours/dates and times are all offered on an as needed basis and will be assigned upon acceptance of employment), agree to meet weekly with your Peer Coordinator, and attend all staff meetings as conditions to receiving your training benefits. Any employee that does not fulfill this obligation may be required to repay fees associated with this training benefit. Please inform your hiring representative if you do not wish to participate in this paid training program. Lack of participation in this program does not recuse applicants of the requirement to have PSS training and certification completed within the first 6 months of employment. Opting out of this offer also forfeits any paid training time associated with the program. Any training done outside of this express benefit would be at the full cost of prospective applicants.

Generally, Mentors meet with clients once a week for a two to four hour session scheduled by the Mentor with the client. Gateway Mountain Center Therapeutic Mentors implement our Innovative Nature-Based Therapeutic Mentoring program. As a Whole Hearts Minds and Bodies clinically-supervised mentor you will be trained in our 4Roots Method and leading edge humanistic, trauma-informed modalities. WHMB Therapeutic Mentors provide a consistent, caring, authentic relationship with the youth through supported risk taking in nature such as kayaking, rock climbing, hiking, and personal reflection. In addition to some of our personal reflection activities which include: art-making, nature journaling, meadow-tating and strength-based confidence building. WHMB Therapeutic Mentors provide the container, support, connection and opportunities for young people to thrive. Our program is a unique, powerful and flexible option within the field of therapeutic services. Mentors generally pick up clients from home or school, spend some time together in nature, can share a bite to eat, and drop the client off at home.

Therapeutic Mentor
Gateway Mountain Center is expanding its nature-based therapeutic program, Whole Hearts, Minds, and Bodies (WHMB), to San Francisco, and we're seeking passionate individuals to join our team.
Whole Hearts, Minds & Bodies has been making a positive impact for over 12 years in rural eastern California. Weekly one-on-one therapeutic outings are designed for high-need youth and young adults, and are led by highly trained para-professionals and associates who are clinically supervised. We have proven success as valued partners in Wraparound services. Our highly relational therapeutic approach, provided in non-clinical and non-stigmatizing settings, has garnered appreciation from youth and families who often face challenges in remaining engaged with more traditional therapeutic programs. Inspired by this success, we are extending this valuable service to Medi-Cal-eligible, high-need youth in the diverse community of San Francisco. Whole Hearts focuses on integrating nature-based activities, mindfulness practices, and physical fitness to support true and lasting healing from severe emotional disturbance, complex trauma, and/or substance dependence.
Position Overview

The Role: Therapeutic Mentor
As a Therapeutic Mentor, you'll:
Lead one-on-one therapeutic outings for youth, typically 2-4 hours per session.

Attend a minimum of 2 meetings per month with a clinical supervisor (weekly supervision for graduate level interns and registered associates); monthly meetings with the case manager.

Order 5 Camp Counselors:
Overtime rates apply for Camp Guiding/Management after 54 hrs or more than 6 days in a workweek or 24 consecutive hrs. No daily overtime.
In an emergency, employees may work over 54 hours or more than six days in a workweek and must be paid not less than one and one-half times employee's regular rate of pay for all such excess hours.

Cooking:
Demonstrate exceptional attention to risk mitigation regarding creating meals for groups including facilitation of ServSafe Food Handling standards.
Support creating a space that is organized and well labeled for program efficiency.
Communicate professionally with any kitchen staff or guides supporting programs.
Menu preparation in accordance to dietary restrictions/needs, custom requests & budget restrictions.
Food purchase in preparation for groups- including proper food storage and submitting receipts in a timely manner.
Timely food preparation for groups varying in size and requirements. Dietary options are ready at the same time and of equal quality/quantity for clients with dietary needs.
Leave all spaces clean after meals within the kitchen including cookware/pots/pans/knives, counters and floors. Ensure dishwashers are loaded and running.
Upon completion of each program, inventory all non-perishable & unopened food.
Maintain required certifications/licenses.

Benefits and Wages:
$21-$25.00 per hour starting rate depending on college degree, credentials, certifications, and/or experience.

Reference Checks:
The company reserves the right to conduct background investigations and/or reference checks on all of its potential employees. Your job offer, therefore, is contingent upon a clearance of such a background investigation and/or reference check, if any.
FLSA and Employment Status:
Non-exempt/Part-time. Seasonal: 20-30 hrs/week from Sept-April; full-time 40 hrs/week from June-August.
Non-exempt/ Full-time. Year-round: 40 hrs/week.
